Wellness Round Up: Body Holiday's Refresh, Stargazing in Japan, Wellness Real Estate

Wellness Weekly Round-up

Each week we pull together our top articles on the latest in the spa, wellness and hospitality industries.

Investment: Body Holiday in St. Lucia Undergoes $20 Million Refresh

While working on our projects in St. Lucia, Ti Kaye and Windjammer Landing,  we had the opportunity to visit the breathtaking Body Holiday Resort and fill up on inspiration through seeing their incredible wellness offerings first hand. The Hotel just announced that it will be pursuing a $20 million renovation of its guest rooms, six restaurants, public spaces, and back of house facilities. They are also launching a Guest App, eco-friendly air conditioning, rainfall showers and an expansion of its organic menu in celebration of the hotels 30th anniversary.  We can't wait to see what kind of new innovations they come up with.

Design Inspiration: Stargazing Tea Rooms

Traditional tea houses are taking on new form in Japan as Moriyuki Ochiai Architects have created a unique destination in their polygonal tea houses, designed with star gazing in mind. The incredible design includes bright colours, creatively shaped entryways and wall mirrors that reflect the outdoors. While not specifically designed for wellness seekers, we are certain that a night sipping green tea under the stars will help anyone relax and reach a state of calm.

Trending: Wellness Real Estate

Welcome to the hottest new real estate trend in the world. This collective transformation in design and development that is led by wellness, includes the integration of affordable homes, co-working spaces, and wellness programming in destinations that target multigenerational neighbourhoods, and encourage aging in place. These communities integrate high-quality hospitals and health services, eco-friendly food, energy and waste programs, hydrotherapy and ultimately result in a reduction in stress and disease thorough a more holistic approach to health and wellness.  Delos Real Estate is an incredible leader in this arena, creating spaces that enrich lives and create ease as you move throughout your day.  The Global Wellness Institute is predicting an annual increase of 6% in wellness real estate with an estimated reach of $180 billion by 2022.
