Wellness Weekly Round Up: Yoga on a Plane, Yelo Spa's Growth Plans and Whole Foods' 2018 trends
Wellness Weekly Round-up
Each week we pull together our top articles on the latest in the spa, wellness and hospitality industries.
Bringing Leisure to the Skies
Can you imagine doing yoga on an airbus? That is what a team of designers and engineers from Transpose are proposing to create through a series of modularized aircraft cabins. The idea is that these cabins could be quickly and easily swapped out in place of traditional cabins depending on the passenger count and requirements. Many exciting possibilities have been tested including a yoga studio and health club concept. Click here to learn more from Leisure Opportunities.
Yelo Spa's Franchise Future
Yelo Spa's Nicolas Ronoco has expansion plans on the brain — in a recent interview published by Spa Business Magazine, Rococo sheds light on his future goals: global expansion and 150 + locations within the next five years. His goal is to 'capture a niche that is not captured today', specifically in urban centres often thought to be too expensive for this type of expansion. With many businesses in the spa and wellness space often struggling with their bottom line, it's an inspiring success story to be learned from.
Whole Foods' Top Food Trends for 2018
The global team at Whole Foods has released their food trend forecast for the upcoming year. Among the items that we can't wait to try and fold into our clients' programming are: adaptogenic mushroom varieties such as reishi, chaga, cordyceps, and lion’s mane are showing up in everything from tea to supplements, an increase in the expectation of transparency in food labelling, and root to stem vegetable use to decrease waste (think pickled watermelon rinds).
