The Essence of Travel is Changing

The Essence of Travel is Changing

From Vacationing to Wellness, we're showing you how to embrace the hottest new Wellness Trends!

Re-inspired Travel

Whether you like it or not, the essence of travel is changing. We live in a world that is continually plugged in, working longer hours than ever, more stressed out, burnt out and tired out than perhaps we ever thought possible just decades earlier.

The cost of these rapid-pace lifestyles is higher rates of disease, both physical and emotional. Amidst this reality, the typical binge drinking 2-week vacation is slowly but surely becoming a thing of the past. Instead, people are going away to heal, rejuvenate, detoxify, re-inspire and repurpose their lives. From detoxing to juicing to boot-camp to yoga and beyond, the new 2-week vacation is all inclusive of more than just food and drink - but instead of wellness in all of its forms - fitness, spa treatments, diet plans and more.

Dream up the many ways to treat your guests to wellness

If you and your resort team have yet to explore the new trend in wellness, there is no time like the present to pour yourself a cup of detoxifying tea, sit down with your notebook and begin to dream up the many ways to treat your guests to wellness.

Here are some of our favourite wellness trends across the globe:

Train your Wellness Concierge. This person is your on-site go to for all things health and wellness, both for guests and staff alike. They understand, value and celebrate the importance of healthy, stress-free living and are eager to share it with everyone. Available for hire upon booking, for week-long coaching and service planning and preparation or for last minute guidance and support.

Wellness Inspired Turn Down Service. This is more than just a crisply made bed. Imagine coming back to your room and being swept away by an aromatherapy sleep aid, filtered water and even a warmly drawn bath with candles burning and a good nourishing book ready to be indulged in.

Meditation Walks. Create a herb and flower framed walking path, or labyrinth, available for use at all times. Hang “Silent Space” signs to create sacred areas of your resort that are devoted completely to resting and reflecting.

Yoga and Meditation classes. Offering gentle, restorative yoga, pranayama or dance classes that will provide your guests with an opportunity to truly rest, relax and set positive intentions for their vacation.

Place In-Room Nebulizers to your guest suites. Not only do nebulizers reduce dust and allergens, but they invite the calming, healing and inspiring power of essential oils into your guest rooms.

Wellness Cuisine. A shift to superfoods, locally sourced organic produce and smoothie/juicing options will take care of your guests’ body, mind and digestion. Consider adding a health-conscious menu or cleansing program for guests looking to detox during their stay.

Herbal Steam Room. By heating up the body, blood vessels are dilated, blood pressure is reduced and blood flow moves freely. It is believed that this increase in body temperature can help cleanse the skin and body, while the steam enhances breathing, relaxation and detoxification.

Inspired Writing and Reading. Something as simple as leaving an inspiring book, or journal in guest rooms creates an invitation to disconnect from responsibility and get lost in reading or writing therapy.

Art Classes. Whether this is adding a mandala colouring book, a blank canvas or a sketch book and pencils to your rooms, or hosting weekly Paint Nights at your resort, art therapy has been paraded as healing the stressed and exhausted body and mind.

Spa Treatments. Try adding in spa treatments that include a spa nap room with soft music, aromatherapy or different services such as acupuncture or therapeutic private yoga and breathing sessions.
